BO '26: The Kommish Has Entered the Transfer Portal
Der Kommissar | May 8, 2026
Well, folks… after months of delays, nudges, spreadsheets, route maps, arm-twisting, public shaming, private shaming, and what can only be described as aggressive baseball enthusiasm… I regret to inform you that the BO will need to take a one-year hiatus.
In a stunning and deeply ironic turn of events, the very man who was demanding timely responses from everyone else has failed to deliver himself. History will judge me harshly.
Truth is, this year has turned into a bit of a circus on my end and I just can’t make the logistics, planning, and execution come together in a way worthy of the BO name. Rather than force a half-baked operation involving questionable lodging, long boring trips between Single A baseball stadiums, and at least one emotional breakdown at a Hampton Inn continental breakfast, I’m waving the white rally towel.
For those interested in the voting results: with a couple exceptions, the Midwest vs. East Coast split largely followed geographic loyalties. Shocking development there. The East Coast trip appeared to have a slight edge, which is surprising considering the Midwest offered affordable beer, manageable cholesterol levels, and emotional stability.
I do sincerely appreciate everyone who responded, participated, debated itineraries, and tolerated my increasingly desperate “just checking in…” messages. Your support of this ridiculous little tradition means a lot.
Please know this is merely a rain delay — not a cancellation. The BO shall return next year, hopefully bigger, better organized, and with significantly less hypocrisy from league leadership.
Until then, may your doubleheaders be sunny, your rain delays short, and your cleats dirty.
Thank you all again.
