May 28, 2007 - Quick update to BO07 Status. 25 Days!!!
May 14, 2007 - I haven't been completely silent since March. Most of my communications have been on the BO Group. But since not all of you check the Group and I know ALL of you check out this site, I've posted an update to BO07 Status. Just a little more than a month away from the trip to the Southeast. Check out details under the "2007 Planning" link to the right.

December 1, 2006 - The BO Stats page is now updated with BO '06 results.
November 29, 2006 - The infamous spreadsheet that is used to find the "perfect" time for consecutive games... lining up the planets... synchronizing world events... has been attached for your amusement. Check it out under 2007 Planning. Also, the BO06 has almost been completely filled out with pics.
November 12, 2006 - The 2006 Odyssey has now been documented and loaded on the site. Thanks to Andrew for his wicked prose. Intro and Day 1 pics have been added to supplement the text. Days 2 and 3 pics are still coming. Photo albums for all days have been added and accessible from each days' page. Enjoy.
October 31, 2006 - Well, the '06 season is now behind us. And many are already deeply entrenched in football. But I just have a couple of changes that I want to make known.
No, the site hasn't been updated with BO06 stuff just yet. I had a minor catastrophe and ended up losing all of MY pics. Dag nabbit. So, I have had to collect all the pics again from everyone and I'm in the process of compiling them all. The official clerk is still preparing the documentation and we should have it out fairly soon.
But, anyway, I've created a nifty map interface. It provides a better view of where we have yet to go and where we have been. And may also encourage a slightly different way to enjoy the site. Simply click the "Map" link in the upper part of the navigator on the right.
Also, I'm sure you have already learned of the new group that I have initiated on Google Groups. It is intended to take the place of the forum we used last year (no/few ads) and help to plan and discuss the Baseball Odyssey. I have created an area accessible from the navigator on the right where you can learn more about our new Google Group. For those that are not yet members, you can sign up there as well.
June 3, 2006 - Long time, no post. Less than two weeks away and I can sense the raw giddy anticipation of this year's BOers. In response to the recent email I sent to BO '06ers, I have made some changes to 2006 planning. Please check them out.
April 16, 2006 - Happy Easter. The 2005 section is now complete. Total attention is now turned to BO '06. Whooo hooo.
April 12, 2006 - Tickets and van have been purchased and reserved. Check out "2006 Planning" to the right for details.
April 10, 2006 - 2006 Planning updated with the firm list of BO '06 participants. Tickets to be purchased ASAP.
April 8, 2006 - The list is almost complete with a couple of "definite maybes" requesting just a little more time before they confirm their participation in this year's Baseball Odyssey. I am planning to make all ticket purchases this upcoming week. Please review the "2006 Planning" link to the right for the "who's in" and "who's not in" status.
There have been a couple of minor adjustments to the site. New banner graphics adorn some of the pages. The BO Stats page has been updated with the results from 2005.March 28, 2006- Yeah, baby, major retooling of the site. Wooo! Here's what's new. 1) BO05 link to the right is now active. I've written some dailies ... pictures to come. 2) I've added two tours to the Alumni Exploits site complete with pics that I received last year. 3) The "Look" of the site has been changed - kinda bringing it into the 21st century. 4) Stadium portfolio has been updated with the new stadiums. 5) Check out the "Miscellaneous" link to the right for some Book and Movie additions.
Also, the April 7 deadline for BO06 is fast approaching. Have you made the decision to come yet? Remember to check out the Forum and let your voice be heard. Get there by navigating to "2006 Planning" to the right and then to the "Enter My Forum" button.March 15, 2006- Oh yeah, that's right. No need to adjust your television. It's been a full 7 months since last I graced this site. But anyway, life is full -- and good. My updates are not as widespread as I would like but I've started the 2006 Planning and have created a link and page accessed to the right. I have also earmarked a page for documenting the 2005 BO and will work on that as time permits. Please look through the planning. You'll notice a button there for a forum. Rather than me acting as a clearinghouse for all of the responses, I thought it would be better to set up a forum where all questions are out there for all to see. Please check it out and submit your thoughts in the forum. Thanks.
August 19, 2005 - Well, tomorrow is the day. Everything is set. An adequate amount of preparation has been made. And, if NWA cooperates Meg and I should be on the ground in Las Vegas this time tomorrow. Please remember to check back frequently ... I've modified the link at the right that provides up to the minute updates of our travels to be "Realtime BO Updates". Enjoy.
August 2, 2005 - I added a very brief summary of Meg and my trip to Spring training this past April. See "Spring Training '05" link to the right. I also added a quick acknowledgement of an award ceremony that took place in the offseason for one of the contest of BO04. Look for it in BO04 - Contest Results. Only 18 days to go ! Whooo hooo !
July 2, 2005 - A couple of flight updates and I added the details about the games if anyone forgot. Check it out under "2005 Planning". But perhaps the biggest development in Baseball Odyssey history... I have created the Baseball Odyssey Blog which I will have the ability to update realtime via my cellphone during the Odyssey !! complete with pictures !! Check out the "Blog" link to the right.
June 29, 2005 - I have moved the site to a different server. One that is faster, more available, better managed and cheaper. Thanks Bill for hosting. In the process of moving the site I lost my mid May update. Dag nabbit. Anyway I have updated the planning to include a refresh of costs and who's going. Also, I have put in arrival and departure dates that have been shared with me.

March 20, 2005 - Under 2005 Planning I have updated the preferences. Decision on proposal will be by the end of March.
March 6, 2005 - Under 2005 Planning an estimate of option number 3 has been added. This is an abbreviated west coast swing concentrating on the southwest. Also under 2005 Planning, I have indicated who I have received preferences from.

October 28, 2004 - The Red Sox won the World Series ??
Oct 23, 2004 - Since I last graced the page with new content, there have been a number of significant developments with respect to the Odyssey and baseball in general. First, Andrew has revealed to me (and very shortly to you) his wit and eloquence in his documentation of Day 5 of the Baseball Odyssey. You can find his account under Day 5 and I think you will agree that he certainly has a knack for documentation. For this reason, I nominate Andrew Official Secretary of the Baseball Odyssey - the first to be nominated to this position -- EVER ! I would gladly accept a second and put this to further discussion so let me know.
Second, as Secretary's are want to do, Andrew has also recently provided a most ripe tid bit relating the current championship series to our humble odyssey (he obviously is gunning for the position) and a subtle testimonial to the Baseball Odyssey in general. For those not on copy, I have attached it here below:
Thanks to BO '04, for the first time in my (young) life, I got to witness both World Series teams play live. And win.
Thanks for the memories. I guess this year's going to include one or two more.
By the way, according to the ex-Cub factor (as deadly as the Curse of the Bambino), the Sox are destined to win. In case you're not familiar with ex-Cub factor, it goes like this: since the Cubs' last appearance (and defeat) in the World Series, in 1945, whichever World Series team has had more former Cubs players on it has lost the Series. According to a New York Times article today, only the 1960 Pirates and 2001 Diamondbacks have overcome the Cubs factor. The Cards have 3 ex-Cubs (Tavarez, Womack, King) while the Red Sox have only two (Bellhorn, Mueller).
Third, as Andrew alluded to above, the baseball season, although deep into October, is still bursting with memorable possibilities for many who participated in BO '04. We will see what the Red Sox and the Cardinals have in store for us.
Aug 25, 2004 - The Fourth Annual Baseball Odyssey is now behind us and what an Odyssey it was. This summer took us to the heartland --to the homes of Tony Oliva, Robin Yount, Hoyt Wilhelm, Lou Brock, George Brett, and Ernie Banks, the working class of baseball. It was six days of baseball, hotdogs, new and renewed friendships, and many miles.
