Following an uneventful and yet restful first night
under the western skys of California, we began our day slowly accustoming ourselves to our new surroundings. Our spot at the Glenn Ivy RV Park was situated close to the pool so some made their way there directly while other more athletic varietys found themselves running through the surrounding area before dosing themselves in the coolness of the pool.
Luke, who's procurement skills are without
parallel, not only managed a deal on a van but was given a 15 passenger rather than the normal family style. This would prove to be quite a steal and come in quite handy for the
remainder of the trip. It just goes to show you that everyone brings a certain talent to the table. You
got your goat skillz, your bow hunting skills, your computer hacking skillz, your num chuck skillz, and now, your aquiring cheap van skillz. Our hats off to Angus MacGregor.
Just prior to departing to Anaheim for our first
game we gathered round for the 2004 BO Remaining Award Ceremony -- or as it is commonly referred to the "2004 BORAC." Here we made award presentations to those
who one a particular event in the contest from the previous year. Those awarded prizes were Sam (Game 5 attendance - Beanie), Andrew (Game 6
attendance - Beanie), Cooper (Total runs - tie - Kirby bat), Sam (Total runs - tie - Spring Training Book), Jim Carr (Fantasy team winner - tie - Red Sox tank), and Gene Dankbar in absentia (Fantasy team winner - tie - baseball). A most joyous occasion.
And then off to the game in Anaheim. There must
have been at least as many Red Sox fans in attendance as Angels fans. With rookie sensation Jonathan Papelbon ("Ba Ba b b Ba b b b Ba Papelbon") on the mound for the Red Sox and a couple of dingers from Edgar
and Manny, the Red Sox came out on top of a hard fought game. Curt Schilling even made a relief
appearance and although he didn't look too sharp it was good to see him on the hill.

After the game and on our way out we nearly ran into (literally) Mike Timlin who was sporting some serious threads. And in the parking lot was David Wells with a bunch of cronies getting ready to cruise around on their Harleys.
Back at the camp site it was time for some grillin' and
some chillin'. I think there may have been beverages involved.
